There are different types of cleanings for example Regular Cleaning, Full Mouth Debridement, Scaling and Root Planing a Periodontal evaluation is preformed to diagnose what type of cleaning is required, this depends on the severity of the patients plaque and tartar build -up.

Eating sugars and other refined carbohydrates causes an acid-producing bacterium to develop, which removes minerals from surface of the tooth. Fluoride helps to restore these minerals on the tooth's surface, reducing preventing cavity growth. We use a fluoride varnish for children up to 3 years of age.
